Had a lovely time last Sunday, not a care, just loving you.
We became as one on Saturday, it was clear our love would see us through.
Now once again it's Monday, and I'm far away from you.
And once again I've got those Monday morning blues.

Had to travel far to find work, had to move away from you.
Had to find a way to pay my bills, had to find it without losing you.
Weekends are the only time I have to spend with you,
And make up for these week-long Monday morning blues.

It's the economy that's rearranged our lives,
It's not like I'm trying to replace you.
If I could be there I'd be with you all the time.
